Belize: ever thought you could get married there? Well you can, and it makes
an interesting choice for a wedding abroad. The only English speaking
country in Central America, Belize is a small country bordering the
Caribbean sea, with plenty of sandy beaches and secluded islands (called
cayes) dotted along its coastline. Belize was once part of the ancient Mayan
civilization and remains can still be seen in magnificent ruins dotted
throughout the country which are well worth a visit.
If you'd like to get married here then it's quite straight forward to do the
paperwork and it's all in English, which helps! As the country has the
second longest coral reef in the world after the Great Barrier Reef in
Australia, it makes a beautiful place for a wedding and honeymoon,
especially if you're into snorkelling/diving/being by the sea.

Most of the wedding venues here are along the
coastline and offer combined wedding and honeymoon packages with the
option to add or remove as many wedding features as you like. If it's just
the two of you, you may wish to get married as the sun sets over the sea
and then celebrate with champagne and a lovely meal, or perhaps you'd like
to get married underwater and exchange vows in a marine park floating
above the coral with multi coloured fish darting around you?
