What are the legal requirements to get married in Slovakia?
Legal age for marriage without parental consent is 18 years for both men and women.
Bride and Groom may not be related by blood, marriage or adoption.
An official translator must be present at the ceremony if either of you does not speak Slovak.
How long do I have to be resident in Slovakia before I can get married?
There are no residency requirements to marry in Slovakia, but you will need to go personally to the registry office at least 14 days before the wedding, so make sure you have left enough time for this.
Getting a marriage licence
You must take the papers mentioned below to the Registry Office in the Slovakian municipality where you wish to get married.

Birth Certificates with full parents’ names
Certificate of No Impediment
If you have been divorced then the final divorce papers must be shown.
If you are widowed then the death certificate of your previous spouse must be shown.
All documents must be translated into Slovak by an official translator and stamped with an apostille.
