Christmas Weddings Abroad

Weddings aren't just for summertime, a winter wedding can be just as much fun, and a lot more atmospheric! If you're thinking about getting married abroad in the winter, or perhaps at Christmas or New Year, then here are some ideas as to inspire you.

In the UK we don't usually get a white Christmas, so our first suggestion is to choose a country where you're guaranteed a bit of the white stuff over the festive season.

1. Canada

Canada is an extremely winter-friendly country, with plenty of snuggly log cabins, dramatic mountain backdrops and iced over lakes where you can get married.

It's easy to marry here, so you can practically choose any location in which to hold your ceremony. We recommend heading to the mountains for some powder soft snow - just perfect for those Christmassy wedding photos!

2. Iceland

We also love Iceland for a winter wedding as its volcanic landscape can make you feel out of this world. Winter is stunning here and the plethora of dramatic landscapes can make it difficult to decide where you'd like to have your festive wedding.

If an outdoor wedding is a bit too cold for you in December, then perhaps getting married in a cave would be more sheltered? It definitely makes for some unusual wedding photos.
