Weddings in California

California has a diverse and beautiful landscape with mountains, forests, deserts, lakes and a striking coastline all making it a beautiful setting in which to have a wedding abroad. Perhaps you like the idea of getting married in a vineyard in the Napa Valley surrounded by wine and friends with a magnificent view over the rolling hills covered with vines? Or maybe a city wedding in San Francisco is more your style? Take a cable car to your wedding instead of a limo, and marry with the Bay behind you (hopefully without fog hiding the view!).

Honeymoon options are vast here too, you could drive the famous Route 101 from San Francisco to Los Angeles (or vice versa) along the coast and stop off along the way. Monterey and Santa Barbara are just two of the many towns dotted along the coast where you could celebrate your marriage (or even get married if you'd like somewhere for just the two of you). read more

Alternatively, southern California makes a completely different wedding destination to the north. Sprawling Los Angeles is not an ideal wedding choice (the city that is), but the towns along its coast are ideal for a laid back, relaxed ceremony on the beach, or in a venue overlooking the sea. How about joining the locals in Venice Beach and rollerblading to your wedding?!

Even further south, the beaches and parks around San Diego also make a fabulous wedding choice, you could exchange vows with the cityscape behind you, or face the Pacific, with nothing but waves beyond. As you can see, it's easy to get married in California – just more difficult to decide where!
