Getting a marriage licence

licence, payable in cash.
Your wedding planner will usually help you to arrange an appointment to apply
for the licence.
What legal papers do I need to take with me?
You will need to provide proof of age, e.g. Driving licence.
You need to be able to state when and where you were born, and, if divorced,
when and where the wedding took place and the date of divorce.
If you are adopted you will need to state when and where you were adopted. You
should not have to produce papers to support your statements, although if you
have them to hand it may give you peace of mind to take them with you.
